The Blurb4s of the Week

The C4rdinals have arrived and the process of electing a new Pope is now under way in earnest. They are of course taking their responsibilities very seriously and there is a very strong idea that change is in the air. This is, as has been well documented, a very crucial time for the church. There have been scandals and their public relations is at an all time low. Something must be done and there must be some changes. It has been, as we well know, 1,000 years since a non-European Pope has been elected. It is now the time to change and bring new blood and credibility into the mix.  A South American or perhaps an African Pope seems to be the direction the church should go in. Will they crumble under the pressure or will they do the right thing and make the necessary changes. The world watches with bated breath.

Ch4vez has finally died. The Venezuelan President has finally succumbed to the ravages of cancer. He was loved by many and revered in his country in a way that few leaders ever are. They are crying in the streets and their leader has fallen. He was a champion of the poor and he stood up against the tyranny of the United States. For this act of bravado he was loved and respected by many outside of his own country. Ironically he did have a relationship with the United States and their economy was completely dependent on their revenue sources from oil and the ensuing dollars. It was, to say the least, an uneasy partnership more out of necessity then from love. For this reason, the States will be sending a very low ranking official to his funeral. This is diplomatic protocol and it is considered a political necessity. The new President, the former vice president, is much less charismatic and time will tell how he will adjust to his new role.

Mislim da je to mislio ironicno, ili pola-ironicno, ali ko ce ga znati. Znam da Johnny mrzi Kinu, Svajcarsku i Austriju, Ameriku voli dosta.
