Više volim da mi se neko izveštačeno osmehne, nego da se spontano izdere na mene.

speaking of ebay, upravo sam ulozio 4k$ u ebay bizMis za zenu. Kaze hoce da ima svoj novac, a ovo joj izgleda kao idealna prilika.
Ovaj jedan moj prijatelj se razume u ebay i preprodaje te Magic karte. Uostalom evo vam deo nase prepiske:

There are a few ways to go in this venture.  Here are two that work pretty much interchangeably.

1. Collect sets of cards from the online game "Magic the Gathering Online" (MTGO) then redeem them within the game, which causes them to be printed onto real cards and mailed to my home.  Take those real cards and sell them in the same way as kidicarus2000 does as documented below (on eBay).

2. Buy real Magic the Gathering cards in packs from a local reseller, open them and sell them in the same way on eBay.

There are two timelines regarding the profitability of the above methods.  The new cards are released on let's say 1/1/11, 4/1/11, 7/1/11, and 10/1/11 quarterly.  At that time, option #2 is profitable until about 30 days when option #1 becomes viable.  When option #1 becomes viable, option #2 drops significantly in profitability and option #1 replaces it.  (New cards are released in stores.  1 month later cards are released on Magic Online and they become much cheaper to attain dropping the market price on the card.  2 years later the cards are no longer useful for tournaments and they drop further in value.)

I hope that clarifies it.  Your responsibilities as a Czech distribution point would be something like this:

1.  I ship you packs of cards ready to be mailed, mailers, and labels to print on.
2.  I run the auctions on eBay and collect the payments.
3.  I send you a list of items to ship out a few times per week, to be shipped within 1 business day if possible, 2 business days at the latest.

The profit margin in the US is about $75-100 average on a $400 investment per 3-4 weeks.  The prices in Europe are slightly better, but the costs are higher.  The profits are not guaranteed, but that is the average I am seeing based on data from the last 3 months.  Prices rise & fall over time.

For this to work I would need to know the prices there to mail envelopes inside CZ and abroad to the EU.  These would be small padded envelopes weighing generally about 15 grams so the weight class should be the same as a regular letter.  For anything valued over $50, I need to find out how much insurance would cost.  Does mail often get stolen there?  How long does regular mail take to arrive to Germany?

If you are considering doing the shipping from there, the work would be split between both of us.  I would be doing more than half of the work, but we could figure out a way to balance it if you want an even split on the profits.  (i.e. You put up the money and do all the shipping without my involvement.  Ebay can send emails when items are ready to ship.)  Below I have included more details on how I attain cards online and get them mailed to me.

You may want to start by using google images to look at some pictures of Magic Online, or installing the badly-written software and tooling around with a demo account or something.  I think they still have free demo accounts that allow you to play a basic game, but I don't know for sure. http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Digital/MagicOnline.aspx  You can read up on set redemption too but the info is strewn a bit everywhere.  Good search terms include: mtgo magic wizards

Here is the guy on ebay that I plan to emulate: http://stores.ebay.com/Icarus-Magic (research data attached)
I've attached some stats on his sales.  He did about $160k gross in the last 3 months.  Last summer, he was doing $160k per month, so I'm not sure why the slow-down.  Perhaps he times the market that way and knows what it can handle to keep his profit margin high.  Knowing that I would be making a ~25% profit at the sale prices he is getting, I can assume his profit margin is between 30-40% because of reduced costs, cheaper suppliers, etc.

On the spreadsheet, I sent you the whole thing.  The tabs you'll want to look at are "UNTIL FEB 14" to show a quick snapshot of his recent sales, these cards I would get from magic online, and "MBS FEB 14" to show his sales of the real cards that I can buy at the store and immediately sell for the quicker turn-around time on the investment.  The spreadsheet includes visual basic programming that I used to collate the data.  Nothing to worry about, let me know if you can't load the spreadsheet because of virus warnings.  The spreadsheet data was actually very tricky to get, but where there's a will there's a way.  Ebay absolutely tries to prevent you from getting this information.  However, there are plenty of research tools out there that can just as easily get it for you. (Like the Vendio site I use occasionally.)

So there are two methods to the madness:

1. Collect sets of cards online for the October set "Scars of Mirrodin", redeem the sets, auction the saleable cards in groups of 4.
2. Buy real cards, sort them into the saleable groups of 4, for the January set "Mirrodin Besieged"

Both are showing me a 25% profit but that's not to say the profit margins won't disappear in two weeks for one reason or another.

Hey. Was able to open the excel file, Mac knows no viruses. Knows no macros either, but i guess i don't need those to look at the file.
Will have to read your email 1-2 more times to grasp it all. A letter from CZ to CZ cost 10 czk, from CZ to EU 20 czk. Registered letters are 28czk - 58 czk respectively. It actually could be cheaper because the registered letters I used to send to Ireland are heavier than 50 gram.

160k in revenues monthly? that is totally insane. Does the IRS want a part of it?

Do these cards sell in Europe a lot? What about Asia? My brother is about to move to Thailand, can we get him to work for us there? hehe.

----------------------------------------

The cards sell the most in the US but quite a few players are in Sweden, Germany, Japan, etc.  Most of Asia does not play other than in China where they get Chinese language cards pretty cheap so that isn't a good market.  The IRS would have to be involved if the profit was big, there's no real way around it.  His revenue is probably 25% profit, not 160k free & clear.  So maybe he makes 40k a month.  Still insane!

If you dine with the devil bring a long spoon.
